Xtreme Ales - SaXquatch Dark Old Ale 330ml
Brewery Description
A bit of a monster, SaXquatch is a Dark Old Ale and at 8.6% ABV should be drunk cautiously. A traditional malt bill bittered with Cascade hops followed with a Cascade and Columbus aroma hopping. This very smooth and deceptive beer has liquorice overtones and a discrete toffee finish.
ThirstBourne Tasting Notes
This black beer poured with a fluffy light brown head. There is a complex sweet aroma with pear notes. There was a noticeable alcohol hit but not overwhelming within this full bodied beer. The flavour combined a sweet black treacle/ prune with a moderate hop bitterness that finished dry. Dangerously drinkable at 8.6% so tread lightly (with your big foot!).
