Bottle Conditioned beers need a little more care than filtered beers. Here we tell you
Brewery Description
A traditional English Porter based on an historical recipe from the 1850’s. It is made using only English hops, malts and yeast to preserve it’s truly English identity. A decent dollop of black treacle is also added as a reminder to the original recipe. Almost black with dark ruby highlights, this beer has aromas of malt and fruit with flavours of roasted grain, rich malt and a dry lingering finish.
This beer has won numerous awards including “Beer Of The Festival” at both St Ives and Cambridge Winter Ale Festivals.
ThirstBourne Tasting Notes
This dark brown porter poured with a stable fluffy light brown head. There was a complex sweet aroma with fruity, herbal and biscuit notes. Herbal and spicy flavours were detectable above the medium sweet biscuit malt. There was a moderate hop bitterness, full body and a medium/low carbonation. Overall a well-balanced traditional porter.
