How to Store and Pour Bottle Conditioned Beers
Bottle Conditioned beers need a little more care than filtered beers. Here we tell you
Brewery Description
This is the first of two “aged beers“ that are produced by the brewery . They are kept at a consistent cellar temperature which allows them to develop complexity and richness as time passes. Inspired by the strong beers of the Trappist and abbey breweries in Belgium it is a dark amber beer with flavours of vinous fruit, port, rich malt, floral and herbal hops and a lingering gentle spicy hop finish.
This beer is featured in “300 More Beers To Try Before You Die” and was awarded First place in the East Midlands RAIB competition in 2012 then going on as a finalist to the Champion Bottled Beer Of Britain in 2013.
ThirstBourne Tasting Notes
This dark brown ale poured clear with a strong alcohol and fruity aroma. This combination was similar to a sherry with a delicate and sweet cooked apple flavour. The beer is well balanced and would pair very well with sweet festive foods like Christmas cake.
