Like its namesake, this beer is strong and mighty, coloured dark cherry red and rich in Lincolnshire goodness. A bitter, but not overwhelming start with lots of burnt toffee and caramel. Leading to a honey malt with floral hops. A perfect winter warmer.
ThirstBourne Tasting Notes
This light brown beer poured slightly hazy with a stable, tight cream coloured head. The aromas from the hops were fruity and spicy with caramel, toffee and biscuit from the malt. There was a moderate to robust hop bitterness that balances the malt sweetness and a soft mouthfeel. This is a very easy drinking extra special bitter but beware that the 6.2% ABV is not particularly apparent until you start talking Bull! Goes well with a Mince Pie.
